Callingwoods Principal Sanaa El-Hassany says, “On behalf of all the students, staff and families of Callingwood School, we would like to give a Big Thank You to the Edmonton Junior Tennis Society for offering the Tennis Junior Program to our students in grade 3-6 in the spring of 2022-2023 school year. Having access to this wonderful sports program supports students’ well-being and removes barriers for many of our students to fully engage in school, extracurricular activities and prepare them to lead a healthy lifestyle. The inability to access programs such as Tennis and many other sports and Arts programs is a reality for many of our children. Anecdotally, teachers shared that lack of access to extracurricular sports programs has meant missed opportunities for students and has led to lower self confidence. We are grateful that Edmonton Junior Tennis Society offered this experience to our children in grade 3-6. We are grateful that the Edmonton Junior Tennis Society offered the equipment and the expertise of Tennis coaches which created a love for the sport and for some may open future opportunities and passion for the game. I can say with confidence that offering this program within the school hours made the impossible possible for many of our children. It is organizations such as yours that build the future of our society and level the playing field for children who may not get such an opportunity otherwise. You help build the future of our society and you make a difference!”
