What is a COMMUNITY TENNIS LEAGUES

Edmonton Tennis Community, in partnership with Tennis Canada, is excited to offer recreational tennis leagues in the City of Edmonton, and you can be part of it!

What are Community Tennis Leagues?

Community Tennis Leagues is a recreational tennis program and platform that connects adults looking to play more tennis matches against others of similar skill. The program is for beginners looking to play their first match, or for advanced players looking to find new competition!

Why become part of CTL?

• Connect and play tennis matches with people in your community
• Matches can be played at local public courts near you or at your private/club courts
• Earn your World Tennis Number (rating that doesn’t have a boundary on age, gender, or capabilities)
• Improve your tennis skills and build your tennis network
• Low cost for a ladder and organized league ($20+HST per session of 3-4 matches) compared to club cost and match play

CTL Insider Tips:

• NEW! Starting this summer, if you don’t have an NTRP ranking, the World Tennis Number will now be used as secondary criteria for acceptance into tournaments. The World Tennis Number is your ticket to entry in tennis tournaments, events, gatherings, and more!
• Play more CTL matches to verify your World Tennis Number!
• Schedule your matches early in the session to allow enough time for rescheduling if needed.
• With the 30-minute public court rule, try playing at odd times, such as in the morning or afternoon, to beat the rush. Alternatively, our scoring formats are flexible, and you’re welcome to play a pro-set (first to 8 games).

How to start playing matches:

1. Sign Up: Join Community Tennis Leagues and create your profile.
2. Find Matches: Players are placed in groups based on their level. Players will receive contact information for their respective group members to arrange matches when and where they like.
3. Compete & Track Progress: After each match, enter your scores online to track your progress and earn prizes.
4. Build Your WTN: Every match you play helps build your ITF World Tennis Number (WTN), reflecting your skill level and progress.

Registration is currently open; closes Monday, September 9th!
