On Saturday, September 25, 34 kids ages 6-15 made amazing memories at the Jasper Place tennis courts when they played in their first EJTS tournament.
The EJTS Cup is a tournament designed to offer players a positive, fun and entry-level competition experience in a safe environment. The EJTS Cup is an incredibly unique event as it’s the only tournament offered in Edmonton where players with minimal tennis experience can participate.
EJTS Lead Coach, Kristina Sanjevic, had this to say about the tournament:
“We got to play tennis on a beautiful sunny day! What more can we ask for?
All of the participants had a great time, competed in a respectful manner,
and got some fun prizes in the end. When I asked them do they prefer to
practice or to play tournaments, they all shouted “tournaments”!”
EJTS Coach, Nolan Sax, added his thoughts on why it’s important
to participate in these recreational tennis tournaments:
“These events give players a chance to show off all their learned
skills in a social, encouraging, and high energy environment. It
allows the players to meet others with the same passion
as them and open the door to the more competitive side
of tennis.”
