On Saturday, December 18, 36 kids ages 6-14 got active by taking part in the EJTS Winter Tennis Cup! EJTS coaches introduced the kids to tennis match play over the course of the one-hour tournament. The coaches went over the rules, ensuring that all kids could enjoy their time at the EJTS Winter Tennis Cup, regardless of tournament experience. Prizes were awarded for the winners those showing outstanding sportsmanship.
The EJTS Cup is a non-elimination tournament that offers
recreational players a fun-filled and exciting event with
multiple opportunities to play. Each player is guaranteed
a minimum of three matches in a friendly environment,
where participants can develop their tennis and sportsmanship
skills while competing in a safe environment. After all, the
focus of the EJTS cup is having fun!
EJTS Coach, Jackson Baerg, had this to say about the tournament:
“Events like the Winter Cup are an amazing way for kids to
learn to compete. Having participated in similar events
when I was younger, I know that it is crucial to play in
tournaments in addition to just practicing to improve. It’s also
amazing as a coach to see kids implementing the skills
they learn in our programs. Most importantly, I love watching
them have fun while playing our amazing sport.”
